Elves.

This project took quite a bit of my time during a couple of months.

121 cards for a deck of elves, including some sideboard options and other stuff. All of the cards got the same treatment, a nice extension to the art to make them look even better than they already are. I believe that the uniqueness of this deck is something that will not be available to anyone else. I will not be reproducing something like this in the future and that what makes these projects so special, and fun. It’s like almost every card I paint is a limited edition, limited to the one.

If you have thought of getting something altered and painted by me, now is the time. My schedule for the rest of the year is filling up quickly and at the start of next year I am going to be working on something totally different for a month, or four. The work is for a board game under development. I am surprisingly going to work on the visual side of things and I will be updating the process in here too.

Now to the elves.

I started out with this.

And this is how they looked after I “laid the brushes down”. Click the pics for a better look.

Brainstorming

This is not the first set of brainstorms I have asked to alter, and I am sure it wont be the last. This time it was “just” a “simple” extension job.

This one unlike most of the stuff was done to a local, so I got to meet the client and got immediate feedback. A rare but very welcomed occasion. I can say that I had a very happy customer and the first thing said was “These look even better live”. Now the pictures on this site are really good, but the comment is still true since the scanner always has problems with certain colours.

I also Painted my third Marchesa. Now these are the hardest alters out there and I think I am charging way too little for these. Every time I do this kind of alter I go “damn, this is hard I should have charged more” this is just because the amount of work to get it right is more that I anticipated.

I do have cards on the line constantly and as you are reading this I am probably making some cards look even better.

On ebay!

It has been a while since I had the time to paint something else than a commission, and it looks like It will happen even less frequently.

Yesterday I did but some cards I painted on ebay, as usual you can find these cards from there with a starting bid at 0,99$. This means that you can get a nice unique, top quality altered MTG card for a bargain, and like always these are not alters I will reproduce. Once it’s done and gone there wont be another one just like it.

I am particularly proud of this card, I mean that is a damn Mind twist, right?
